Countdown to the End?

                                                                                                                                                                   

       In a world full of lies, Jonas realizes some things have to change, specially how his community is fuctioning. Since people dont really understand the meaning of killing someone or feeling emotions, it makes everything hard of the the Giver and Jonas. Through out the time, That both the Giver and Jonas spend together, the Giver realizes that it was not fear that people dont feel emotions, so they came up with a plan. The plan consists of Jonas escaping the community and leaving the boundrie of memories, when someone how carries memories leaves the boundries the memories will be send out to the community. Jonas father tells the family Gabriel is going to be released the next morning, so that night he leaves with Gabe, and his fathers bike. Hours pass, and Jonas is leaving the community. Days go by and both of them start to run out of every supplies they have, but Jonas finds a way out. After a very long time of traveling , he feels they are reaching elsewhere, later it starts to snow and they were freezing.  Jonas raps Gabe in a jacket, and keeps on walking. When they finally get to the top Jonas sees the same sled of this first memories. Both of them go down the heel and Jonas starts to hear music, but he thinks perhaps it only an echo…

“I won`t! I won`t go home! You can`t make me! Jonas sobbed and shouted and pounded the bed with his fists.” 152

I really feel for Jonas, he now realizes that his own father lied to him, but he does not know what he is doing, since the he has no feelings he is not aware of his actions. I can see why he is so mad, and I think he dosen`t trust his family anymore.

 The Giver smiled, and nodded. For the first time in their long months together, Jonas saw him look truly happy.

“Her name was Rosemary,” the Giver said

How could imagine that the Giver had a child specially Rosemary that was training with him to be the next recive, and some very awful stuff happened during the training and after that Rosemary decided to ask for release.

 

Jonas and Gabriel were freezing while trying to get to the top of the mountain to see their current location. They both were suffering of hypothermia but Jonas never gave up.

Jonas had the plan to escape his community, but he had to be very careful about how might see him, and make sure nobody finds out what his plan is about. He also took Gabriel with him so he better be silent.

Echo? Did Jonas really heard music or was it just a echo... The thing is we don`t know, since the book ends there, I mean the book can`t end like that, I really hope there is more to that than I think there is.

 

Ordinary Human

                                      Ordinary Human

      After passing a lot of pain, the Giver decides to give Jonas a ver awfuk memorie. A memorie full of pain and sadness, full of discusssion and drama, can you guess? War... People begging for help and food, asking for their lives, searching for their families with desesperation, with no were to go. Not really looking foward to return to the anex room, Jonas watched cearfuly what "ordinary" humans where doing, but where they really that " ordinary?"but with no choice left, he had to returne and recive more memories, experience new things, even if it was hard to believe in them, Jonas did not know what to expect next...

 

"I had to, Jonas. It was my job. And she had been chosen" The Giver looked at him imploringly. Jonas stroked his hand. (145)

Jonas is experiencing a series of memories he has to over come in order to become a reciver like the Giver is. Also he has to face the reality of what his community is hading.

" He killed it! My father killed it! Jonas said to himself, stunned at what he was realizing" (150)

 After realizing what "release" really is, Jonas was in a complete break down. He had no idea his father did what he did, even that he was able to do that!  Sadly Jonas knew he had to face it, just face it...

 

 

As the new reciver in training, Jonas is facing new memories and also figure out secrets his community is hadding from all of the citizens. He may figure out things he does not even what to know, but its not up to him what he recives.

Jonas belives that all the people around him are "ordinary." But, what does he mean by that, is he not ordinary? What is his "thing" to what he just said?

 Taking decisions is one of the most important steps a person had to make. Ans as we all know Jonas is about to take a very importan decision that will change his hole life. What can it possibly be?

training starts

                                        Training Starts

       After all the presure and shock, Jonas had to continue his training, because he was the new Reciver of Memories. Jonas starts to understand how the real outside world works, and there is more than what their community is living. Rules where rule and Jonas new he had to do exactly what they said. The old Receiver of Memories started giving Jonas a smooth memorie, which was snow. But, we all know that life is not just full of fun and laughter, and Jonas had to recive some painful memories, because after all, every single memorie that the old reciver has, is all going to pass to Jonas...

" I`m right then," The Giver said. "You`re beginning to see the color red"(130)

Color red? dont we all see that color? well... I guess in Jonas world not everybody has the possibility to see color.. right? well. After all we know how important it is so see different colors, because they give everything life.

" The Giver shrugged. " Our people made that choice, the choice to go to Sameness"(134)

 People and their choices.. We all know that many times we dont know what the right decition is, sometimes we choose  good things but other times we do not select that option.  But... most of the times we dont know that is the correct decition. 

I realize that Jonas will stuggle with certain stuff as a Reciver of Memories, but life is life and he knew that hurtful thing where going to ger harder and harder every single time. I really hope he is prepared enough for what may come, but... we dont know what can come.
